1. Join DSA. Visit dsausa.org/join to become a member. Once you join, you'll receive an introductory email from National DSA, as well as one from our membership chair, Grace, within 1-2 weeks of joining.   

2. Attend an Event. You don’t need to wait for an email from us! Check our calendar to see what events or meetings you’d like to attend, and go! Here are some suggested events to look for if you're just getting started:

• General Meetings: General Meetings are where we practice democracy within our chapter to make decisions on upcoming campaigns and set goals together. They are open to the public and are a great opportunity to come learn more about our work and how to get involved!

• Committee/Working Group Meetings: Find a current list of our committees and working groups here. To join a committee or working group you are interested in, simply show up to a meeting!

• Socialist Night School: Socialist Night School is a political education event that is open to the public where we discuss democratic socialist theory, strategy, history, and current events. 

• Chapter Socials: Hang out with your fellow socialists! Our bonds with each other make continued organizing possible. Check the calendar for upcoming game nights, picnics, nature walks, and more!

3. Join the Slack. Log into our Slack workspace - this is where we communicate and organize virtually. You will receive an email from Slack within 1-2 weeks of joining. 

4. Meet 1-on-1. Keep your eye out for a phone call, text, or email to schedule your 1-on-1 meeting with a more senior member. They will guide you in finding what brought you to socialism and plug you into the work that we are doing. 1-on-1 meetings are not required but they do help you more easily come into the fold of our organizing.
